Francyann Fisher Edwards September 19, 1944 – September 21, 2021 Francyann Fisher Edwards, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, after a short illness. Francyann was born on September 19, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow (Woody) and Frances Fisher. She graduated from Tucker High School in 1962 where she was on the basketball and drill teams. She briefly attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She married the love of her life, Jackson Edwards, on May 16, 1964. They were married for 57 years until she passed. They had two children together, Traci Elizabeth Edwards Babcock and Andy Edwards. She worked as an Office Manager for a State Farm Insurance agent in Snellville, Georgia, for over 25 years. She loved her family dearly and she loved BIG! Her most prized roles in life were being a wife, mother and Mimi to her five grandchildren – Garrett Edwards, Jolie Babcock, Riley Edwards, Jackson Babcock and Trevor Edwards. She never wanted to miss a sporting event, chorus or band concert, awards ceremony or any other special occasion. She was so VERY proud of her family! Throughout her 77 years, Francyann brought joy to so many lives. Her kindness was abundant and there was not a selfish bone in her body. She was an active member of Berkmar United Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ, served as a youth group leader, worked in the nursery and participated in the Seekers Sunday School class. She later joined Snellville United Methodist Church and then Cannon United Methodist Church. She also participated in several bible study groups throughout her life. She was a member of a prayer shawl group where she crocheted shawls and hats for cancer patients. She also crocheted baby blankets, Christmas ornaments, scarves and bookmarks for friends and family during joyous and difficult times or “just because”. Francyann’s talents were limitless. She was a true Southern lady who enjoyed painting, playing bridge and Bunco and entertaining family and friends. Her star shone bright and she leaves behind a legacy of love. Everyone who knew Francyann enjoyed her outgoing personality, zest for life, generous spirit, jubilant laugh, and, most of all, her bright smile that lit up a room and now lights up Heaven. Survivors include her husband, Jackson Edwards of Snellville, Georgia; her two children, Traci (Joel) Babcock of Buford, Georgia, and Andy (Cindy) Edwards of Bishop, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Jolie and Jackson Babcock and Garrett, Riley and Trevor Edwards; her sister, Nancy Roberts Sutton of Snellville, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Woodrow (Woody) and Frances Fisher. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 26, at 3 p.m. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Kidsplay Therapy Center at 311 Cooper Road, Loganville, Georgia 30052 or the American Lung Association in Georgia at 2452 Spring Road, SE, Smyrna, Georgia 30080.
