Nyal Anthony Clayton
(November 1, 1944 - March 21, 2016)
Nyal Anthony Clayton died peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was born in Walnut Cove, North Carolina on November 1, 1944, to the late Frank and Hope East Clayton. Nyal graduated from Tucker High School in 1962 and worked with Lorillard Tobacco Company for 30 years. Nyal’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 35 years, Judy; son, Dr. Frank “Scooter” Clayton (Donna); daughters, Hannah Clayton and Lauren Frounfelker (Kevin); his sister, Kalen Henderson (Robert); his grandsons, Will, Matt and Jake; and many other family members and life long friends. Nyal was a devoted father, and generous and kind friend to many.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Hart’s at the Cupola with the Reverend Chris Minton officiating. Burial will be private. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kyle Pease Foundation which supports people with disabilities through sport (www.kylepeasefoundation.org).
