Since I did not move to Tucker High School until my junior year, I do not have as many memories as many of my classmates. Mr. Trimble and Miss Jones were my favorite teachers and I made many new friends very quickly. Music, musicals and plays were my favorite activities. I remember practicing for "H.M.S. Pinafore" and falling off the stage because they would not let me wear my glasses. The next day my father (God love him) took me to get contact lens.

After THS I went to Stetson University in DeLand, Florida graduating in 1966. I married Gene Tunnell, another Stetson student, during my junior yea. After graduation we both taught in rival junior high schools in Florida and I was Minister of Music at FBC Indialantic, FL.

The rest of my life is just easier told with simple bullets:
• Attended and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
• Inner-City mission work in Fort Worth, Texas
• Missionary to Vietnam 1970-1975 (Dean of students and professor of childhood education, child psychology and child development at The Baptist Seminary of Vietnam, led city-wide youth choir for visiting dignitaries to Saigon)
• After evacuating Vietnam, worked with Indo-Chinese refugees at Ft. Chaffee in Ft. Smith, Arkansas translating and teaching.
• Reassigned for missionary service in Honduras studying Spanish in Costa Rico then back to the states to head up refugee work for the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board
• Minister of Children, Second Ponce de Leon Baptist in Atlanta
• Minister of Music and Children, First Baptist Church, Franklin, NC
• Minister of Faith Development, First Baptist Church, Rome, GA
• Retired from FBC, Rome in June of 2011 after 45 years in full or part-time ministry.
• Now a full-time caregiver for my 93 year old mother with A.D.
We have one natural born son, Mark, 44 and three adopted Vietnamese children, 50, 47 and 43 and 9 grandchildren. Gene divorced me in 1997 and I have been happily living alone since that time.

God has provided me with all kinds of opportunities, surprises and abilities. The goodies include: singing with the London Symphony Orchestra, singing in 17 different countries, writing a book, writing curriculum, and winning several national awards for Christian Education. On the other hand I'm a three strikes and you're out looser if you are Baptist! I'm female, I'm ordained and I'm divorced.

It's been a great life and God has blessed me over and over. If I can find someone to care for my mother, I hope to celebrate our beginnings with all of you.
