Some Highlights of the Past 50 Years
Graduated from the University of Georgia. It was a wonderful 4 years and I am still a loyal Bulldog.

Married Bobby Campbell on Nov. 26, 1965. I played the song “You’re the Best Thing that Every Happened to Me” at his Celebration of Life after his death in April 2008 after 42 years of marriage, because that says it all. He said, “I have had a good life and I am not afraid to die.” That says it all too.

Had 2 children – Lauren, 42 is a teacher in Forsyth County. Grant, 37 is in the insurance business and lives in Brookhaven. They each graduated from college, are married and have a boy and a girl. Lauren’s are Jake, 14 and Ellis, 11. Grant’s are Will, 6 and Mary Grant, 3. I do believe in the saying, ”Grandchildren are your reward for not killing your kids.” I am taking Jake and Ellis camping this summer in Jackson Hole and Yellowstone.

Still working at Cross Keys High School since 1980 as a media specialist. It is a very multicultural school and never boring. Most of the kids are great and I enjoy working with them, especially as the Beta Club Sponsor.

Traveled the world on my own and as a tour group organizer. Travel is the best education you can have. Experiencing Paris with Carol Sims, Marilyn Lewis, and Mary Lynn Smith was a treat that I will always treasure.

Built a house in Gulf Shores on Bobby’s parent’s property. Sharing the house with friends and family has created many memories.

Made lots of friends along the way but still think that many of you from the Class of 62 are the best friends. Losing friends like Carol, Jerry, and Marilyn help you realize that.

Still live in Tucker in a house surrounded by gardens that I love. Life is certainly different without Bobby but I have lots of good memories and life is good.
